Shot Blasting

Surface cleaning of a wide variety of components. Garden gates, automotive parts, garden furniture, motorcycle frames, radiators and much more. A 15ft x 7ft x 7ft Shot Blasting room is available for this metal surface finishing process. Shot blasting abrasives are used to clean and prepare substrates prior to painting/coating or repair.

The most effective media for the shot blasting process is Steel Grit, this strips many types of surface contaminants from steel and other foundry metals.

Bead Blasting

Bead Blasting is a metal surface finishing treatment, utilizing round beads of glass media driven by air through specially designed nozzles at the material surface. This will result in a clean, bright, satin, uniform surface finish on complex shapes ,with minimal dimensional change or removal of material from the component.

Bead Blasting produces a more aesthetically appealing finish than other processes which makes it suitable as a final finish on many components.

Alumina Blasting

Our Alumina Blasting service is a metal surface finishing process that uses Aluminium Oxide. This type of media is an angular and very durable abrasive that can be recycled many times.
As the Aluminium Oxide is harder than other commonly used medias it can penetrate and cut even the hardest materials.

It’s fast cutting action minimizes damage to thin, more delicate materials by eliminating surface stresses caused by other heavier slower cutting medias.

Grit Blasting

Grit Blasting is a metal surface finishing process where abrasive particles are pneumatically accelerated and forcefully directed against a surface. These high speed abrasive particles remove contaminants from the materials surface and condition the surface for subsequent finishing.

Typical Grit Blasting applications include: Roughening surfaces in preparation for thermal spraying, painting, bonding or other coating operations. Removing rust, scale, sand, or paint and more.

Shot Peening

Shot Peening is a controlled metal surface finishing process used to increase the fatigue life of components and fabrication. Elgamec has years of experience in the world of Shot Peening. All our processes are carried out by hand, providing the same high standard of process and finish everytime.

Shot Peening is the most cost effective and practical method of inducing surface residual compressive stresses which enhance performance and extend the life of critical components.

Vapour Blasting

Vapour blasting leaves a super smooth, easy wipe, stain resistant finish on the work processed. The non-aggressive metal surface finishing action of the aqueous-based media creates a thoroughly clean and lightly abraded result, without impinging on the metal surface.

This method of blasting is suitable for stainless steel, titanium, Aluminium, brass, bronze, copper and many other materials.
